1. Realize you're a sinner - that you're not perfect. This should be a "no-brainer" but just like the drunk who doesn't think he has a drinking problem, we so often fool ourselves in to believing we're "not that bad." The Bible says, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It also says, "there is no one righteous, not one" (Romans 3:10). You know Billy Graham, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Mother Theresa? At some point in their lives, they sinned, even if it was one white lie, that's all it takes to keep you out of Heaven. 2. Repent your sin - make a sincere and real commitment to turn 180 degrees around. You've got to want to leave your old, tired life behind. True repentance means not looking back, but looking ahead instead. Peter said, "repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ". You've gt to stop going down the wrong road, doing things 'your way' and start living the way God would have you live. Repent means to turn... Turn around and have your sins forgiven. 3. Receive Jesus as your Lord & Savior - give control of your life to Him. The Bible says that "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Believing in Jesus isn't like believing in Santa Claus, we all know Jesus is a real man who existed. Even the demons believe that! The issue is whether you're going to continue trying to fly the plane through life, crashing in to this, scraping that, flying through the storms of life alone instead of around them, running out of gas and eventually doing the 'crash & burn' thing OR whether you're going to let God be your pilot to guide you and keep you flying straight and level. The scriptures state that "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord" (Phil. 2:10-11). Everyone will end up finding out who He is sooner or later. Don't wait till later! To receive Him pray to Him right now! Let Him know in your own words that you are a sinner, that you repent, that you believe that He died for your sins and rose again, and that you want to live for Him and you want Him to be Lord of your life. He's waiting... Sample Prayer: Jesus I realize that I am a sinner. I'm sorry for my sins and doing things my way, please forgive me. I want to turn away from my sin and live for you from now on. I believe you are who you say you are, that you died for me, for m sins and I believe you rose from the dead. I want you to be the Lord of my life. Help me live my life for you from this day forward. In your name, Jesus, I pray this prayer. Amen. If you prayed that prayer, or one similar, please call or email us and let us know. We have some information we'd like to share with you.
